During the last two weeks of my 2206225 coursework, Organization of Information Resources (Academic Year 2013), 17 undergraduate students of mine were assigned to design, produce, organize, and publish their selected contents on the Internet by using either Wix® (http://www.wix.com/) or Weebly® (http://www.weebly.com/). Both service providers allow us to build our own web sites for free in just a few clicks. More importantly, they enable my students to learn about selecting, categorizing, presenting, and tagging their web information from the efficient customization menus of these two software packages.
Although the students had a limited time to prepare their assignments, they tried their best to represent the understanding of information architecture as well as their basic skills in managing some digital contents that go beyond the traditional approach of cataloguing library materials. The following URLs are my students’ showcases for web information organization. I am proud of them.
